Invitation to 2nd RepAIR Workshop

Dear Sir or Madam,

the RepAIR consortium would like to invite you to the 2nd public RepAIR workshop at Paderborn University (Germany) on February 23rd 2016.

RepAIR” is a European FP7 funded project which performs research on future repair and maintenance for the Aerospace industry applying Additive Manufacturing.

The workshop will be structured along a storyline from part lifetime prediction and failure estimation, decision support for MRO, the actual AM technologies to overarching topics like certification. We will present an overview of current results of all work packages. As a core element of the RepAIR approach, we would like to present our high batch repair solution by SLM Solution in a Technology Demonstration during the day! The participation is free – we kindly ask you to sign up for the event at Eventbrite:

Survey on data management and data formats for Additive Manufacturing

The UPB team is currently investigating the use of different data management approaches and data formats in the area of Additive Manufacturing. The survey is a tool to analyse the actual usage of various data formats in different stages of the product creation process using Additive Manufacturing in industries. Another important issue is the potential of new standard data formats in Additive Manufacturing.

Please take five to ten minutes to answer the following questions until Nov 29, 2015:

Presentation at the 5th Production Engineering and Management Conference in Trieste

On October 1st and 2nd the 5th International Conference „Production Engineering and Management“ took place in Trieste, Italy. Gereon Deppe presented insights of the RepAIR project with a focus on the topology optimization of an aerospace part and the achievable life time benefits through the application of Additive Manufacturing. The talk led to a discussion of the future development of the manufacturing technology in aerospace and how benefits can be quantified. New contacts to the “Universitá Degli Studi Di Bergamo” have been made to foster an exchange of research contents.

6th project meeting hosted by AVANTYS engineering and the University of Paderborn (C.I.K./DMRC)

The RepAIR team in Paderborn

The RepAIR team in Paderborn

The RepAIR project reviewed its progress after two years of collaboration during a regular plenary meeting in Paderborn. From the 29th of June to the 1st of July all consortium members came to Paderborn to discuss achievements and prepare for the final project year. The meeting was mainly focused on the technological core of RepAIR: Updates of the Selective Laser Melting (SLM) based high-batch repair process and a 5-axis Direct Metal Deposition (DMD) demonstrator representing significant advances in software integration and automation. The consortium will present these outcomes – integrated into the entire Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) chain – during various events in autumn 2016.

Review – RepAIR at Rapid.Tech, Erfurt in June 2015
